Smarter Alloys

Smarter Alloys enables metal alloys to behave like muscle.  Applying this innovation across a broad range of industries, most interesting to ArcTern is its application to generate electricity from low-temperature waste heat (<80C). It is the world’s only company capable of programming multiple memories or pseudo elasticities into a single shape memory alloy (SMA). SMAs are a special group of metals that can be modified to change shape with temperature or electrification.  Smarter Alloys has commercial products in the medical, automotive, and industrial sectors.
